4 Rifles Battlegroup
We are a group of mostly British Army nerds that like tanks and other armoured fighting vehicles.
Our primary focus is on verisimilitude, immersion and as accurate as possible of a representation of the British Army as is possible within the constraints of Arma 3 and it's aging engine.
An accurate as possible representation specifically includes; not formally addressing people that you like by their rank, using other peoples first name, if you're on first name terms with them, goofing off whenever possible, stealing everything that isn't nailed down and even some things that are, drinking all the beer you can find, getting creative and finding unconventional methods to win and generally learning and knowing all the drills, to generate and backup all the skills, to play the game in a fun engaging but demanding manner.
"Wait you said demanding?"
Yes, yes I did didn't I? Make no mistake the AI are out to kill you, they wanna live as much as you do.
Tanks will fire the main cannon at you, they'll call in air support to bomb you, artillery to mess you up or deny movement or initiative, smoke to blind you, RPG's and Grenades for days, machinegun ammo like it's on sale for 0.50c a round in America, and they'll do it all with the spirit of the Ukranian militia attempting to expel the AFRF from their homeland.
And it'll still be fun.
Part of the experience is the challenge, rising up to, meeting and exceeding the challenge.
This will only be possible through teamwork and dedication however.
"Okay but do I get to drink beer in game?"
Yes, as stated verisimilitude is a gameplay aim of ours at 4 Rifles, so everyone has a packet of cigarettes, and there's beer, mars bars and Haribo in the Warriors, these even have an effect on the Survival mechanics.
"But dude. 4 Rifles never was Armoured and they weren't part of the 12th ABCT!"
Yeah we know that, however within our communities timeline, 4 Rifles never became the Ranger Regiment, the Warrior isn't being removed and the 60mm Mortar has been brought back into service. We operate an alternate history timeline to allow us to influence world events, create unrestricted gameplay, and do things, and use kit that has been withdrawn in order to promote interesting gameplay.
FV510 Warrior and Section
Utilising the FV510 Warrior for protection, mobility and fire support, we suppress the enemy, close the distance and clear through positions on foot with our dismounted infantry.
Company Support Group
Pictured here is the Support Group, led by the Company Serjeant Major in his FV432 Bulldog, it consists of the RAMC ambulance detachment, and the attached REME Mechanic.
The RAMC Medics use all of the amazing KAT modification!
The REME Mechanic will also be responsible for recovering wrecks, in addition to un-flipping and repairing vehicles.
Challenger 2 Troop
Pictured here is the Sabre Troop, mounted in the FV4034 Challenger 3.
The troop of 4 tanks provides direct fire and intimate close support on Armoured attacks.
Mortar Section
Pictured here is the Mortar Section, providing indirect 81mm fires support that is integral to the Company Taskgroup. Firing directly from the back of the FV432 the ammunition carriage is usually larger and being within the vehicle makes mobility that much faster.
ISTAR Assets
Pictured here are the Recce Section, Sniper pair, WK450 Watchkeeper and Anti-Tank Section, these assets are responsible for making sure all commanders has all the Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance required to make the best possible decisions in the shortest space of time possible.
Assault Pioneers
Pictured here is the Assault Pioneer Section, these player provide the Company Task Group with its own integral light engineering support, able to tackle obstacles like minefields, roadblocks or rivers and safely move assets across.
CSS Detachment
Finally we have pictured here the CSS Detachment, these players are the most important. As General Omar Bradley famously said: "Amateurs talk strategy. Professionals talk logistics." The company taskgroup simply can't fight without fuel, water, or bullets. These players make sure all the other players have what they need.
"Since starting this unit in September 2022, there have of course been ups and downs. The core of the unit is strong however, with lots of dedicated people looking to make the unit a fun and enjoyable place for all skill levels of Arma player, while immersing you into as close of an experience to real soldiering that we can get within our own homes."

A Coy HQ
“Just like in the real unit, the team is professional, proactive and kind.
The Managment team regularly check in with me to see how I’m getting on if I can’t make it to a game, shows their compassion for their team.
It’s an immersive experience and I’m grateful to be apart of it.”
